Explora Perú Tours | Terms and Conditions
Explora Perú Tours is a company established in Peru, dedicated to providing safe and personalized travel experiences.
Service Agreement
By booking with Explora Perú Tours, the client agrees to the following terms and conditions. This agreement is established between the passenger and the company and becomes effective once the booking is confirmed via email or payment receipt.
The contract is governed by Peruvian law, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Peruvian courts. To book a tour with Explora Perú Tours, the client must be at least 18 years old. All services offered are non-transferable and not for resale.
Cancellation Policy (All Tours)
- 30 to 60 days before departure: 40% of the total trip cost.
- 7 to 29 days before departure: 60% of the total trip cost.
- Less than 7 days or “No-Show”: 100% of the total trip cost.
Full-Day Tours (Paracas, Huacachina, Nazca, etc.)
Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance or failure to appear on the day of the tour (“No-Show”) will incur a 100% charge with no refund.
Note: Tours include transportation, guides, equipment, and meals as specified in the itinerary. Services not mentioned —such as laundry, phone calls, alcoholic beverages, extra baggage, airport taxes, or visas— are not included.
Explora Perú Tours is not responsible for delays, inconveniences, or expenses caused by circumstances beyond its control, such as illness, strikes, social unrest, or extreme weather conditions.
Inca Trail – Booking and Cancellation
Inca Trail reservations are strict and non-refundable once the permit is issued. All passenger information must be entered accurately. Any error may invalidate participation without a refund.
- 30 to 60 days before departure: 40% of the total trip cost.
- 7 to 29 days before departure: 60% of the total trip cost.
- Less than 7 days or “No-Show”: 100% of the total trip cost.
Deposits and Balances
- Deposit: 30% upon booking (via PayPal or credit card, including transaction fees).
- Final balance (multi-day tours): payable in cash in Cusco. Payments made via PayPal or card incur a 5% surcharge.
- One-day tours: cancellations are free up to 24 hours before departure. After that, no refunds apply.
- Treks to Machu Picchu: the remaining balance must be paid 48 hours before departure. Failure to pay or notify the company will result in automatic cancellation without refund.
Changes and Cancellations
By the client: Only the person who made the booking may request changes, subject to a USD 50 penalty if made up to 30 days before departure. Changes or transfers are not allowed for the Inca Trail.
By Explora Perú Tours: In case of operational changes due to force majeure, the company will offer alternative options or rescheduling, informing the client as soon as possible.
Force Majeure
Force majeure refers to any circumstance beyond the control of Explora Perú Tours, including but not limited to: strikes, civil unrest, political conflicts, weather phenomena, natural disasters, landslides, road blockages, Machu Picchu closures, government regulations, or rail/road accidents.
In such cases, Explora Perú Tours will make every effort to offer alternative solutions, but no refunds will be provided.
Transportation, Trains, and Flights
- Train tickets are non-refundable and subject to availability.
- Explora Perú Tours does not control train schedules or seat assignments.
- The company is not responsible for missed or delayed flights caused by airlines or third parties.
Guide Authority
During the tour, the guide designated by Explora Perú Tours has full authority to make decisions for the safety and well-being of the group. Failure to comply with legal or group norms may result in the participant’s removal from the tour without refund.
Documentation
Passengers are responsible for carrying a valid passport or identification document. Failure to provide the required documentation may result in denied participation without refund.
Insurance and Assistance
Explora Perú Tours strongly recommends that all passengers obtain personal travel insurance covering:
- Accidents and medical assistance.
- Emergency evacuation or repatriation.
- Loss or theft of baggage.
- Trip cancellation or interruption.
All company vehicles are covered by SOAT (Mandatory Traffic Accident Insurance). This insurance covers immediate medical expenses in case of accidents occurring during official land transportation.
For incidents outside the vehicle —such as illness, personal accidents, or loss of belongings— the client assumes full responsibility. Explora Perú Tours will provide assistance with medical coordination, transfers, and reports in case of emergency.
Privacy Policy
Explora Perú Tours collects personal data solely for operational and promotional purposes, always with prior consent. All information is handled under strict security and confidentiality standards, in compliance with Peruvian data protection laws.
